Practice operations guide

Build a practice-administration startup plan

Separate authorization, business setup, systems, costs and launch tasks, each with an owner, evidence and a date.
By Ekitore Adamase, Editor and publisherPublished Next review

Separate professional authorization, business setup, facilities, systems, operating costs and launch operations. Assign each task an owner, evidence requirement and due date. Do not treat a downloaded checklist as permission to practice.

Start with the responsible authorities and advisers for the actual jurisdiction and business. Build a cash reserve, define a realistic service capacity and test systems with synthetic records. Record dependencies: software cannot be fully configured before the real roles and workflows are defined.

Use the startup checklist and operating budget. This publication supplies planning structure, not individualized legal, tax, clinical or insurance advice.
