Education guide

Separate education, credentials and licensure

A degree, an accreditation status and a license answer different questions. Verify each with the responsible source.

A completed course, degree, accreditation status and license answer different questions. Similar words in a title do not establish that two credentials have the same requirements or permissions.

Identify the exact credential and the place where you intend to work. Use official program information for education and the responsible regulator for permission and scope. Keep the date and source of each answer. Background resources can help orient you but do not replace the regulator. [S11, S14]

Use the licensing source finder. Do not treat this guide as confirmation that a particular qualification allows you to provide a service.
